Which template do I select import the PowerPoint slide in it's original format
Chandra Mullineaux
Hi Denise, Can you provide more information about what you would like to do? Do you want to import the actual presentation, instead of importing the text from the slide or importing the slides as images?
Chandra Mullineaux
Hi Denise - I saw that you responded via email to the email notification from the comments on this article. For future reference, email responses to article comment notifications go to a suspended ticket queue in our system and we may not see them.
Your question was: I would like to add the final Powerpoint slides with text and images. Which template do I select?
If you are referring to which course page stencil you should select, and you would like to import the full slides with all of the formatting retained, you should select the Image stencil. Please note, the slides will be converted to images and you will not be able to edit them in uPerform. You should make any necessary edits in PowerPoint before importing them.

Hi Abha,
We are planning to create a new demonstration but we don't have it yet. The interface in this version is outdated, but the functionality is still the same.
Thanks,

I don't have an import powerpoint option in my latest version of uPerform. Has the process changed?
Also some of my items are greyed out - does anyone know why?
Chandra Mullineaux
Hi Ruth,
While you have a course open in the editor, select the Insert tab. You should see a "From PowerPoint" button.
Some buttons may be grayed out if they are not currently applicable. For instance, the Link button will be grayed out if you have not clicked into a text area.
Hope that helps!

This is what i see in the insert tab...am i in the right place because i don't see it
Edit: I think it's a file type issue! UDC vs ULC (mine is a UDC)

Hi Ruth - You are correct. The import PowerPoint functionality is only available for course (ULC) files.

Thanks Chandra. Do you have any articles about the different uses of udc vs ulc files? I'd like to learn which file type would be more suited to the training courses i'm creating.
Chandra Mullineaux
I'm not sure of a specific article, but UDC files are used to record procedural content (step-by-step instructions, simulations, and videos in an application) whereas ULC files are courses where you would include more conceptual information. You can also embed or link to the step-by-step content from within a ULC.
If you're interested in training on the different authoring options let us know!
