Q&A

1. Is it possible to add a survey within a course?

A surveys stencil is not available in the eLearning course when you build it, however, you can add a link to a survey created outside of uPerform. In some cases, you can embed a survey into a page of a course.

2. Are there free text questions available for assessments? Is there a report that will show the responses?

Not by default. The system performance report will show the grade and the completion status, but it won't show you what the users got wrong. If you are interested, please contact your Account Manager, or submit a ticket on the Intelligence Hub and we’ll discuss how to get started.

3. Where would you configure what the passing score is for your assessments?

It will be in the template. Under the publication's tab, under the default publication settings, there are the simulation options and the course options. Then within the LMS settings, there will be a passing score setting. If you are interested, please contact your Account Manager, or submit a ticket on the Intelligence Hub and we’ll discuss how to get started.

4. If the course is accessed via the LMS, and we’re using the LMS proxy, is the completion tracked both in the LMS and in uPerform?

It is not. So where the user launches the course is important. If they launched the course in the LMS, then the LMS will collect the score and the completion status. If the course is launched in uPerform, then uPerform will collect the passing score and the completion status. If you’d like to collect the scores in a particular platform, that is the way you want to instruct the users to launch the course.

5. Can the assessment results be communicated from the SCORM file to the LMS if we don't have SSO integration between HealthStream, the LMS, and our Learning Library? Do we need Single Sign On set up?

The SSO integration is not mandatory but if you have the same SSO setup, in both systems, it would provide a seamless log in experience for the end user.

6. If we’ve recently transitioned to a new LMS, who can we work with to ensure we are able to transfer the scores for our in-course assessments?

Our recommendation is that you work with a member of our Technical Success team. If you are interested, please contact your Account Manager, or submit a ticket on the Intelligence Hub and we’ll discuss how to get started.

7. Can you keep people from completing the course if they do not pass the assessment questions?

You can keep people from accessing a system until an assessment or course is passed. There is a setting in the template where you can have users retake questions and assessments. Usually, what clients set up is the ability to retake the assessment, either the entire assessment or retake the incorrect questions.

8. Can you automatically integrate uPerform with your LMS? So, it's not necessarily a direct integration between uPerform and the LMS, but the integration can be done on a course by course, basis.

Yes, you will have to upload each SCORM proxy file into the LMS. But once the SCORM proxy files are in the LMS, you don't have to update it after that. Every time there's an update in uPerform, because the SCORM proxy file, users will always have the latest version.

9. How do we access the SCORM file from the Management Center?

For the SCORM proxy file, which will be included by downloading and enabling the ‘Get Package’ feature, you would need to contact our Technical Success Team through the Intelligence Hub. If you are interested, please contact your Account Manager, or submit a ticket on the Intelligence Hub and we’ll discuss how to get started.

10. If I'm using the on-premise version of uPerform, can I use the LMS Proxy?

Unfortunately, no. SCORM proxy is only for our uPerform Cloud customers. Click here to learn all the benefits available to you with uPerform Cloud.
